The house shook, but I thought the neighbours were messing with their cars again.

Huh, saw and heard this, was in the CBD so could only see a flash in the clouds above and not much else ... I assumed it was lightning!

At the time I thought it was someone behind me taking a photograph. It was a very bright flash.

Was driving on the North Shore. Saw the comet clearly. But didn't hear any bang. Car windows closed stereo on.

Saw the bright flash through the closed curtains from my bedroom and a very very faint boom few seconds later.  Didn't think much at the time until I heard about the meteor.

Saw the flash, thought it was car headlights on my bedroom wall (through curtains). Heard the boom(s). Thought nothing of it until someone asked me if I saw the meteor this morning.

I saw the flash out the window here in Wellington. Thought a substation had gone up.

Saw the flash through the curtains, but thought it was one of the neighbours coming up the drive. Didn't hear anything.
