Hey guys

Bought a Japanese import car that has a Panasonic Strada CN-HDS625D stereo in it, but the language is Japanese only. I know it supports the ability to play MP3's from SD cards, but whenever I insert one I get this message:

There's also another option which I believe is to copy the audio files from the SD card to a HDD in the unit, which gives this message:

Can anybody translate these messages?

Cheers!

Steve

I think it might say something about 'Glorious Nippon Steel' & 'dishonouring your family'.

Ah stoopid me did not think of google translate! The second one says "Create a folder in the memory card, please put the MP3 files in the folder."

Annoyingly I had already done that - will keep trying. Thanks though!

I'd hope it's something like this:

what filesystem are you using on the sd card?

Doubt it would read anything but FAT32

I was using FAT-32 originally but found a menu option using Google translate to initialise the card. Once I put it back in my Mac I found it had formatted it as FAT-16. Dragged some mp3s to it and it then worked fine. Cheers!

The error on the first image says that: "There is no music data on the SD card".  The second image says: "Create the folder in the SD card and put the MP3 files in the folder".

Hope that helps, but really you do need to invest in a replacement device - @shrub is spot on.

PS I have a Japanese gentleman staying here who translated it for you.

Cheers Mike

SOme of those Jap units are great, but just a bugger 99% dont have an English option :(
My parents new car has a whizzy unit, figured out how to get DVD and radio going, found CD option which does work but then copies all CDs to an internal HDD for playback, which is nifty but confuses my aging folks.... got to find out how to stop it auto-ripping.
