The chorus map for my street updated about 5 weeks ago to say UFB now available. How long does it take before an ISP can offer it? I have checked several ISP address checkers for my address and they all say not available.
I'm just getting impatient waiting for UFB yell

Mine was available after the 1st of the month following with Spark.

But they have just been a coincidence.

there is that thread on the same topic, and about 5 or 6 others in the last few months. no real effort to find a similar/same thread on the forum.

you just have to keep checking with your ISP

yes chorus should do a better job updating it, but they dont, its not the end of the world

I,m in Timaru, and I did try searching for any thread about this, but it seems you need to know more specific the thread name before it shows up in google or geekzone.

It's not quite that simple though.  Each ISP has to create an interconnect with Chorus per region.  So UFB may well be available (from Chorus' perspective) well before any ISPs are offering service in an area.

However in this case, we (Orcon) definitely have a handover in Timaru.  So we should be able to order service.  Sometimes the address checker isn't bang up to date, so call in and request a "manual prequal" if they still say no.

In my case, it was available about a week before the Chorus map was updated. Ask your ISP to run a manual check.

Also, as noted above, take a look at this map to see which ISPs offer service in your area.

Mine says available too and for 1Gbps. Might go contact my ISP, as their address checker says its not available
