If so, you may have issues with your refrigerator.

We purchased one mid January and are currently on our third.  Each unit delivered to us had cooling issues with the fridge side (the freezer side works fine).  Even though we were setting the temperature to 3 degrees, a refrigerator thermometer would read 5-7 degrees on the middle shelves, and 10-12 degrees in the vegetable bins.

There were two things that alerted us to this issue.  1) the chilled water dispenser was only pumping out room/tap temperature water.  2) fruit and vegetable juices we make every morning were not cold like the ones we used to make when we had our old fridge (fruit and vege comes straight from the vege drawers to the juicer).

We went into the store we purchased the fridge from last night with our fridge thermometer to test their store model which is a few batches older than the three we have had.  That two gave similar high readings as the ones we have had.  Although the store we purchased from has been treating us very well, Samsung to date have not acknowledged an issue and no one else seems to have reported the issue.

Now it is possible that we have been very unlucky with the three units we have had, PLUS the store model being faulty too.  But I feel that maybe no one else has picked up on the issue.  We did test the thermometer in another fridge instore and it gave an accurate reading compared to the temp set on the door, so the thermometer is not faulty.

If anyone else has this same refrigerator I would be interested to know if you have had temperature issues with the fridge side, and experienced your fruit and vege going off much sooner than expected?

It seems strange the two unconnected things would fail. It could point to a control problem or a set of conditions that cause a particular response. Years ago LG was busted on some models for detecting the energy star test conditions and temporarily dropping some refrigeration functions. That is very unlikely but it shows how complex the mechanisms can be.

Samsung USA has a very responsive Facebook page. Is there a good one for NZ?

I dont have that model but my Samsung fridge has a similar issue. When the technician came to have a look, he mentioned that this was a common issue and was something to do with a sensor not being insulated properly and it gets frozen. When it opened the panel up , it was indeed frozen so he replaced the sensor, moved it to a different located and puts lots of insulation type. Haven't had that issue since then.

Hi, no it isn't.  The retailer is onto this with Samsung and we are expecting them to send a tech to inspect it further in the next couple of days.  I'm simply trying to gauge if anyone else who has this fridge has come across the same issue.  I wonder if people would even notice this issue given I've seen nothing about it online (although it would be hard not to notice).

Thanks for sharing your experience.  This is very valuable.  I'll be sure to share this info with the tech who comes to look at ours.
