These site drive me up the wall.
Why is there no 'New Topic' button anywhere If you are starting a new subject ?
I have put a message up but it has disappeared ,to where I don't know.
Why could I not append a photo to my message ?
User friendly ?
I think not.

There are several dozen forums on specific groups of topics.
Posters are asked to start new topics in the appropriate forum - otherwise, chaos - especially with a non-specific single-word topic title such as "Despair".

you managed to post this one

but not in the right place by the sounds of the message

find the appropriate sub forum that best matches the topic you wish to talk about

ie spark http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39
at the top above the first displayed topic is the new post button in blue
under the box that you use to type your message is a section that says this: Upload an image to include in your post.
click the link and follow the instructions

i didnt think it was rocket science

though this forum is a little harder than say those using the likes of vbulletin. but not by a lot

spend a few minutes looking round and get a feel for it before you get to negative

pretty sure you have to post at least 1 post in a topic before you can start a topic.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

As above. You can start a new topic by finding the correct or most appropriate subforum then clicking the blue [NEW TOPIC] button.

To add images you can use either the photo icon in the editor, or BBCODE.

You can upload images to your Geekzone account by following the link that says "Upload an image".

Is there a minimum number of posts you have to have before you can post pics or something?

You can post pictures at anytime. We will block hyperlinks for a while to avoid spam if you're a new poster. Some sub-forums require a certain number of posts to avoid spam (Offers/Wanted, Startups).

First post is a rant?...really?   Ummm, welcome I guess.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
