.............. of these little characters?

I'm writing some presentations and they are really cool to use, but I don't know exactly what to search on so it's a bit random which ones I can find.

Yeah, thanks.  I can find similar ones, but I thought if I knew they were called "xxxx" then it would be easier to search for. cool

I was guilty of using these when they first came out back in mid 2000's not so bad, by 2009 they were so overused I likened them to cheesy 1990s clip art.

Depending on your audience I wouldn't use them as they may recognize them as well.

Try and find some photo imagery that represents the point you are trying to make and overlay a semi transparent black area on top for your text \ notes/

eg

Bee Honeycomb = organisation
Rock climbing = risk

Use your imagination instead of falling onto overused clipart, will make your presentation all that much more credible and add impact.

Good luck.

I agree with you, however, the pertinent sentence was "...depending upon your audience...".  My audience is not very sophisticated so I think they are unlikely to be jaded by them laughing

I don't know diddly about the going prices for digital media like this, but that could get expensive pretty quickly.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
