Yet another example of an idiot in todays paper....Crowe moaning about twice being rejected for Aussie citizenship when in fact he has never applied.

What is it with these celeb's????

Are they really this dense??

I actually think he is simply trying to bring attention to the citiizenship rules that Ozzy introduced in 2001 for NZers,

My reading of the article he put out was, "look under the rules even I wouldn't qualify to become an Ozzy, perhaps you might like to think about whether those rules are what you intended..."

Whether he formally applied or not is not the point, He has looked at the criteria ( possibly with an immigration lawyer) and worked out the under the regular rules he would not qualify,

There is small but growing campaign in Ozzy for the Oz Govt to do something about the horrible situation that NZers who are long term residents from NZ but arrived after the new 2001 rules began find themselves in....

"Never applied" and "finding no record of receiving an application" may not be even close to the same thing - especially when the Aussie public service is involved.
Whatever, Aussie politicians have been firing up xenophobic sentiment over there for 25 years now, and it's only half a century since indigenous Australians were "granted" citizenship rights - well within living memory.
Russell Crowe is making a good point / drawing attention to an injustice. Good on him.
