I noticed when the new "weather team" ads TV1 were running a little while ago when Jim Hicky came back, they gave in the ad a 3 second preview at a new version of Weatherscape (what tvnz uses for weather graphics - developed by metra). Even real short it did look much nicer than what they use now, anyone know when this is coming out?

Don't know, but I do know one of the reasons I don't watch TV1 weather is they use such crappy graphics.

Low contrast, too much information. Non-standard weather symbols. I could go on...

(So I'm a little fussy, being a sailor and ex-glider pilot and just this morning was telling my wife about an interesting couple of clouds in the sky we could see on the way to work [pyrocumulus with pilatus and elsewhere a nice inversion layer holding what looked like smoke down to a few hundred feet...])

Cheers
Jon
