Has anyone else participated in this?

I just got my results, which were quite fascinating.

You do cheek swabs and return them to the lab for DNA analysis to work out your ancient lineage and migration as far back as how much Neanderthal and Denisovan DNA you carry!

Haven't done the National Geographic one but did the FTDNA one. Surprise, surprise, my ancestors came out of Africa and ended up in Gt Britain.

Interesting, though.

Bit pricey isn't it ?

But pretty good revenue stream for the group running it, looks like they've received over $140million so far.

Not my thing to be honest I'm not much of a history person I like what's happening now and next rather than what's happened.

Where's the fun in knowing what's going to happen ?  More interesting to blunder through life and be surprised :-)

Neither what is happening now nor what is happening next are history...!

It's very detailed. The maternal side of mine was shared with <0.1% of the study. The highest concentration for it is in Denmark, which given British history would suggest viking ancestors somewhere I suspect since no 'modern' ancestors of mine hail from that part of the world. The paternal one comes through central Europe and France, which again is hardly a surprise given the number of European invasions.

Completely true ... though I can't understand why you said it.

Classic. Have been enjoying the sequel too - nice to see that a few of the original cast are still shopping at Arkwrights!

(If only it was shown on FTA TV)

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

I still don't think I understand you .. possible I'm being stupid (happens a lot) I just said I'm not into history and like current/future events, whereas your comment suggests I was saying that current events/future events ARE history ?
