I myself am an update junkie, I want the latest firmware and I want it now.

Be this on my phone or my tv and the htpc that I use to run it you name it if its powered and can be updated it needs to be now.

I use many dev versions of software and like trying out new features before anybody else even if they are buggy.

What are you ????

1 - A bleeding gums Murphy like myself living on the edge of most stuff.

2 - A standard Jim that is happy to use what they have and update a month after a release is out to see how it all goes first.

3 - An honest John which is still on the likes of android 2.2 or ios 5 and doesn't like these new fangled changes.

*NB the names mentioned above are not indicative of members themselves laughing

Apple frequently wreaks havoc with their 'updates' so my attitude is if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

Definitely a 2.5
Unfortunately I'm not confident enough to be a 1.0 but I like to update everything as soon as posible

1 and 2 I guess.

Hardware-wise:
I have a set of devices that I consider my daily drivers and should not be messed with, and at the same time I have a couple devices for beta/dev testing.

Software-wise:
I run them on an emulator on my main PC by using the VHD partition so it won't affect my main partition.

Mostly 2, like to pause a moment to make sure the world doesn't implode.  Except when it comes to Apple, definitely #1  I absolutely hate those little round indicators on the app icons, if one shows up I MUST get rid of it immediately!  If it's a new update then so be it.  Work IT team get a bit touchy though as they don't like portable devices being updated without the update being tested first.  Thing is if i waited for them to test each update I would still be on iOS6.

I used to be update junkie.

Now - I don't care as much. I still remember my burning galaxy s2 in my pocket after 'overclocking'. I take the update as it comes.

A patient update junkie. Yep I like my updates & upgrades ASAP, but I don't post 50 topics on Vodafone forums saying how useless they are because everyone else in the world is already on Android 6 and demand they update my phone yesterday!

I don't make those kind of posts either, but that's because my devices are from manufacturers that don't "gate" updates :)

OS? I want the new one yesterday.

Apps? I have 37 requiring update right now on my phone, at least two won't be updated as they have had functionality removed.
I used to be a compulsive updater but I now read the changelogs and reviews before I push update. And with the size of lots of these apps now and given they seem to roll out updates weekly, I've decided to update about once a month just to use up expiring data.

I don't have a phone to update.

I've updated my bluray player firmware occasionally (when I remember to hook it to the LAN), hardly ever updated the TV's firmware however.

Update Junkie. The problem is I have about 25 devices which require those updates, so I usually pick a weekend a month and do them all except my special devices which get updated the moment updates are available.
