Apparently most people in my office and my wife's office were under their desks. Hope everyone down south is ok.

I'm on Spark, I can't send txts from Johnsonville, but I am receiving. Data is fine. Capacity fail? Will have to use Whatsapp or similar. Obviously a peak demand period. Stuff mobile app isn't working either.

Spark / Skinny appears to be down - I have emergency calls only on my Skinny phone, going through their Facebook made me angry and have a little rant at somebody.

Was a big shake here on the waterfront (1st floor) - everyone got under their desks and I was contemplating it at one point however thought watching the people out on the waterfront scramble was a little more fun.

Stuff says 6.3, inland from Kaikoura.

Hopefully no injuries.

Spark does say they're having major problems.

The quake rocked for quite a while. But, not very strong in Christchurch.

Here, in Wellington there were quite many pushes, but not too strong. Not stronger than last year.
Vodafone was ok, slingshot was ok.
