Bought an item from the US who shipped it using USPS to me here.  Their tracking site says it was delivered to NZ but I still haven't received it.

USPS don't have a local tracking number and said it was probably handed off to NZ Post.  NZ Post have no idea.

How do I track this package down?

Does the USPS tracking number not work on the NZPost online tracking? Seem to recall it has in the past.

It always has worked for me in the past too. They put another sticker on things that come in because the scanners used by drivers etc are not that great at scanning some overseas barcodes, but the numbers are linked so either will get the same tracking info.

How long ago was the last scan? I do recall having something similar in the past, thinking it was lost I contacted the seller, then the next day it just turned up on my doorstep.
It's possible someone forgot to scan at some point once it was in the NZPost system or something like that?

Have you contacted USPS and asked them to follow up with NZPost, they possibly have more pull as the sender.

NZ Post track and trace doesn't truly exist, the best they do is scan once when its picked up and once on delivery. Its nothing more than proof it was sent.

As above, when was it last seen, and where was it headed.

If USPS say it got to NZ, and NZ Post don't even have a tracking record of it, it may well be sitting with Customs still.

I gave their online tracking a second go and it's appeared now.  I've asked the sender to raise a query with them as NZ Post won't talk to me as the recipient.

This is the first time I've had anything directly shipped, and it's the only thing I've ever had go missing.
