I cried when I read about it.  Plus I am praying for her...  Can you imagine 200 lashes?

Chauvinism exalts consciousness of nationality, spreads hatred of minorities and other nations, and is associated with militarism, imperialism, and racism. In the 1960s, the term "male chauvinist" appeared in the women's liberation movement; it is applied to males who refuse to regard females as equals.

This chauvisinm? :-o

You need to ignore the gang rape and look at why she was convicted, she was breaking their laws before the unfortunate incident.

While I don't like or agree with these laws you have to look past the media's way of making it appear as though she was convicted for being gang raped.

She had her sentence increased because the of the way the media attention tried to influence the court.

Most unfortunate to live there.  But yes, it clearly states she broke the law (which is obviously in place to help prevent this kind of situation) and then re-appealed, which was a success, her attackers sentences were doubled.  But she got punished also, and her lawer had his licence confiscated.

Harsh place to be, apparenly all people moving there for work visas are taken to view a punishment.  Not sure how true this is, but makes sense.  Scare all the new comers from doing anything wrong.  Even if its a hanging.

Wonder what other terrible things happen if you travel with different sex peoples from different families!

the BBC aren't exactly helping the situation, what I find more disgusting is the fact peoples opinions are so easily shaped
