Today a parcel arrived. It's a pair of Glerups ankle shoes.

I decided to investigate them after seeing a story on the news a few weeks back. All the reviews seemed to be very positive, so I decided to bite the bullet and get some. So far, (after about 4 hours) they are everything I hoped and more. They are warm, very comfortable, and stylish.

They aren't cheap.
I tried to get them cheaper by buying from the US, but that seems to have been a waste of time. I should have purchased locally.

The thing that amazes me the most, is that there isn't already talk of them here.

They look like shearers shoes.

Not even close :) shearers moccasins are pretty ugly. More like a short woolen gumboot I suppose.

Their marketing refers to addicts. I can totally see how you could get addicted to these.

Really! (actually @ $180 using Amazon/Youshop). Worth every cent so far.

As for calling them slippers... I suppose they are technically, but I'm calling them indoor shoes. I've refused to ever buy a pair of slippers they're always ugly, uncomfortable rubbish. And they're for women and old men.

Only gripe so far, I'm not allowed to wear them to bed!

They do look comfy.
I'd ruin them by wearing them outside because I'd be too lazy to take them off for that trip to the rubbish bin or something.

I'm a huge fan of these: http://shop.canterburyleather.com/collections/slippers-scuffs

I've been wearing them almost continuously for the past three years and they're still going strong plus the insole is removable and replaceable. Super warm, very comfy and made in NZ. I wear them outside occasionally to dump the vacuum cleaner or whatever and I have on occasion gotten them wet while cleaning the shower. They'll probably go another year; they haven't worn out but I stupidly kicked the dogs ball too often with them and the right one is now discoloured and a bit of stitching on that toe is coming undone. Won't do that to the next pair.

I've had them for years - there is a shop in Greytown that sells them.

Brilliant things - comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and only really too hot in high summer.

I have seen these and they do look comfortable, but as I'd only wear them inside, to me they're just expensive slippers.  So if we're sharing slippers, I've been wearing a pair of these for about three years - sheep on the inside and cow on the outside - very warm, comfortable and so far pretty durable.
