Hi There!

Is anyone able to personally recommend a reasonably priced proficient lawyer who handles conveyancing and general legal work please?

I don't mind a small organisation so long as they are good at what they do and don't charge large firm fees!

No it's a property related trust matter.

we use Gellert Ivanson in St Heliers (no more expensive then other lawyers we have used) for the few houses we have bought and sold, wills, POA etc. Always found them excellent to deal with and very thorough. One of the agents for a house we purchased was even annoyed that we used them because she found them too pedantic. Exactly what you want in your lawyer I reckon :)

Try the property talk website, as there was a very helpful  lawyer on there that gave me  help and recall he was  in Auckland. At the very least, someone on there should know someone who is good at property matters.

We use Davenports Harbour  They came recommended by someone else and did a great job of setting up our trust.  It was a painless exercise and they responded to questions/queries quickly.   I don't how it compares cost wise but it cost us under 4K to set up our trust, act as an independent trustee, transfer the property and sort out the transfer of the mortgage with the bank and rewrite our wills.
