Is there a simple way I can set two points on Google maps, similar to Start and Destination, but have the compass point direction come up?

What platform are you on?

You might find the facility in Google earth on a computer.

I use the Navionics paid app on my android phone/tablet and you can turn map overlay on (used to be google but i think it's bing these days) and then measure distance, heading as required.

there is a program called fuzzycalc, put in a start and destination GPS co-ords and it'll give you a bearing and a distance
