I need to replace the female dc plug for my laptop charger cord. I have a spare plug with bare end wire but the positive connections inside the plug are thinner than the one I am replacing it with. The charger has a 6.3 Amp output so I think the connections and wire in the plug I have may be too thin.
How do the 'solder tag' replacement connectors work? I have seen them but never used one. Will I be able to solder it with my horrible thick non fine point, non temperature controlled burn any flux in sight soldering iron?
Alternatively where can I get a bare end dc plug which will support higher current?
