Hi all, help and guidance appreciated.

I want to buy a couple of the self balancing electric scooters (mini segway, hoverboards... Etc.) for the kids (ish). I've decided to buy their affection through a couple of really unnecessary purchases that will make the march to Christmas simpler.

I don't usually have reservations about buying on-line and having stuff shipped over, but on this occasion I was trying to find local suppliers in NZ.

My thinking is that these are still relatively new products, just about entering generic brand and mass production, meaning you can probably pick up lots of alternative unbranded products across the standard sellers like eBay, AliExpress and also through Amazon etc.

My challenges are... reliability, especially after they've been chucked about by kids which they inevitably will be, and so the ability to have an easily accessible support and repair point, rather than the whole parcelling it up, trying to find out how to do it etc. etc. There's also the GST on international purchases I need to consider as I doubt I'll slip through any net with those things.

So, does anyone know of a local reseller that also offers ownership of after sales, or am I just being a bit of a scaredy cat whiner, and the potential savings of buying from an eBay reseller in China would off set the costs elsewhere.

Even better, if anyone actually a product recommendation, irrespective of source, then it would be useful.

I think all of these local sellers just buy from Alibaba, so look at Ali Express.  You'll likely be able to find the exact same model as for sale here, but for a much better price.
