I have a special offer from a retailer to buy at cost plus 5%.

Is there a way I can find out in advance what cost price would be?

Perhaps not "cost" but you can have a feel for market prices at Geekzone Price.

The only way is to ask the retailer. Cost price is not their buy price it is the total cost of them buying stocking and selling the item.

Every retailer's cost price will be different due to differences in buy price, rent, wages, utility bills, etc.

As Fretasm says, check out pricing to get a feel of what a good deal is.

I guess we will have to just run with the offer and compare to geekzone and staticice for pricing.

I avoid "cost + %" sales. I have yet to come across any deals that remotely could be considered a better deal than any other weekend of retail therapy. It's a play on words and in my view disingenuous. Due diligence definitely needed.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
