Rather than post in all the various forums I'll just start with one post in here -

I've just written a blog post about my trip next week to CES. My plan is to try and get a blog post out each night* with some of the cool stuff I've seen.

Since there are plenty of you here who would no doubt love to go but can't, I'll open it up to some suggestions of things that you want me to look at or ask some questions about. If there is a product or company you want to know more about then post it here and I'll see what I can do.

* = May not quite be each night depending on the availability of free beer. smile

I'd be keen to hear about potentially next gen fitness bands, especially anything that claims it can accurately measure heart rate during exercise without a chest strap!

I know a couple of people who are going, hopefully they bring me back the gossip on the latest stereo and home theatre going-ons!
But odds on, they'll be dazzled by the girls in skimpy tops who are pushing fitness bands on every punter who walks past...
I've been before and some of the cheaper brands we don't see over here are MASSIVE (Haier etc).

Heh if anyone is up in the USA and has a little spare space in their bag, I have a couple of items I'd really love to get here without paying stupid money for shipping :)

If it's something that can be purchased in a store I'm happy to bring it back. It's going to be too late now to get anything shipped to my hotel in Houston and in Vegas I'm staying at an Airbnb apartment so doubt there is any way to get parcels delivered unless I'm there.

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately it's specific usb sticks so I can't imagine being able to get them in store let alone at the price of Amazon. I do have 2 day shipping though if it were compatible with your schedule. I'd not want to put you out though.

Anything to do with TVs. There's got to be something more exciting than curved screens and 3D coming...

3d has come and gone with noone giving a crap. I'm more wanting to see higher framerate stuff supported on tv's, All very well having a 240Hz panel, but its useless when its all made up from 60fps on the HDMI. Bring on the 4k 240Hz displayport and stuff!

Im hoping there will be some real 4k media players announced, ones that actually have HDMI 2.0, render the UI in 4k so text isnt all blurry and have a decently fast CPU to push all that out. Been disappointed in all the android ones I have tried that claimed 4k support. Web browsing on them was a horrible experience.

Reminds me of a PR press release I got a few weeks ago -

"VRTIFY, the first of its kind virtual reality music platform. VRTIFY transforms how listeners enjoy their favorite music by enabling them to select a song of their choice – from their personal playlists or apps like Spotify or YouTube – then choose a tailored virtual environment to enjoy it in. Imagine listening to “Walk like an Egyptian” among the pyramids in Cairo. Users can also utilize VRTIFY’s VR channels or attend concerts in real time for a truly immersive experience"

Yeah nah.
