Does anybody know of a place which make eggless/vegan cakes, same day in WGTN/Hutt area?

Moore Wilson's sells a really nice vegan chocolate cake (in their Fresh section, ground floor) - and I mean NICE... It's the only bought cake I've ever purchased, as I inevitably find commercial cakes a huge disappointment, being all style over substance. I have a feeling the producer could be Pandoro, so if so may be available directly from one of their stores. Highly recommended!

Edit: yep, confirmed it's Pandoro, and also confirmed my recollection it contained a berry (raspberry chocolate) - but don't let that put you off as it's fantastic - moist, rich and flavourful (three things typically missing from bought cakes!).

Three Pandoros in Wgtn (http://www.pandoro.co.nz/Retail+Stores/Wellington.html) as well as being sold at Moore Wilsons.

Must say it's a bit weird seeing a vegan cake thread on GZ.

My SO is vegan so there's frequent talk of vegan cakes for me. How many vegans are out there on GZ?

Semi-vegan here ; ). In practice that means I cook vegan but not too fussy about the options when eating out or fast food etc.

Bottom line is if it not tasty and sasltisying I probably won't be eating it. This is not a problem because good vegan food is tasty and satisfying. : ).

What's the word for the complete opposite of a vegan?

I've never understood how anyone can live on vegetables and fruit - I'd starve to death in short order, as I hate both.

There is a place called The Chocolate Cake Company on Lambton Quay but no idea if they have special needs cakes!

The answer is simple, one can live on veges by eating them, cooking in different styles with different spices. There are heaps of combinations. I am sure you haven't tried nicely cooked veges.. Otherwise you would love them..

Kind of missed out nuts and seeds from that list. Also if you are everything cooked you would probably die so remember to eat raw as well. Remembered the many oils and vinegars also very good for raw etc etc long list..

ROFLMAO! Eat raw vegetables? They are vile enough cooked. Who wants them all crunchy and hard and cold?!!
