Some are saying it's a hoax, still waiting for more confirmation. Some information on The Holywood Reporter.

Can't be real. None of the news outlets have it.

Edit some apparently do.

Didn't know he was sick. He has a new album out in a few days doesn't he?

It is on Sky UK. Supposedly his publicist has confirmed it. Interesting how the media didn't know he had been ill. It is also posted on his facebook page, but people thought it had been hacked.

Both his Twitter and Facebook pages show this, plus SkyNews and The Holywood Reporter and now the Daily Mail

Some sources saying its a hoax, but if so, why leave it on the Twitter account and website......  unless their passwords have been reset and they cant access the accounts.

His wikipedia page has now been updated, so it is as good as official when that happens.

If this is true that would be very sad news. I was never a fan, but a talented legend he certainly was.

In saying that, the "news" page that has the info isnt linked anywhere else on the website, so I call hoax.

freitasm: If it's a hoax, it's a big one as now large media is reporting as well (see above tweets).

So if the media says its true, its true ? :)
