Posted several hours ago is the news that we may have another Neptune-size planet in our solar system. Fascinating what the astronomers are finding in the Kuiper belt and how they can use those objects to work out theories about the possibility of another giant planet.

They are guessing one orbit every 10,000-20,000 years. I like the idea of another target out there after we finally get to Mars. It is a long way to anywhere else.

Huge eccentric orbit. They seem to think, if it exists as they postulate, it should be found relatively soon.

I think it is interesting they think a planet is there.  The previous idea as I understand it is that there is a brown dwarf (named nemesis) on the other side of the Oort cloud.

One would expect a planet between the Oort cloud and the Kuiper belt would also cause some  disruption.
