Hey guys.

Looking to buy myself a computer/Gaming chair. Max I want to spend is $150, but hoping for $100. I guess a chair is something you need to try before you buy however, but oh well. Nothing too fancy with the speakers in built or whatever. Most use in one sitting would be 4hours. Plan on using for gaming on the PS4, and watching TV when not in the lounge.

I did notice This one from the Warehouse and This one from Briscoes. The Warehouse one mentions its a "Middle Back" Im guessing that means in sticks out in the middle?

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have a dx racer, and cant really recommend them to be honest.

The lever to pull out to let it either lean back or be locked has massive slop to it, and only locks the right side, so when you lean back against the chair, it pulls right as it hits that stop.

The arms are junk, just foamed plastic of some sort with a harder outside, had air pockets in them so fell apart where it split from the surface to those air pockets, and wobble around a lot on their height adjustment.

But the biggest thing is that it doesnt go high enough. Must be designed for midgets.

No idea what I paid for it, I just pointed to it at PB and said one of those, but I think they are outside your price range.

Sure you wouldn't prefer something sporty looking? ;-)

On a phone and don't want to paste a rather long link, but search Warehouse Stationery for this product code: 760535

Mid back usually means as opposed to a high back.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Get yourself a normal office chair, I have a gaming chair and wouldn't recommend one.

Bought this two weeks back for my son....  it is really comfy, armrests fold up so you can push it right under the desk ... we bought it for $170 so always look for a sale at the warehouse.

I got one of these from Warehouse Stationary a couple of weeks back: Jasper J Racer Chair for $179 from memory.  Im very happy with it so far.  Comfortable.  Solid.  Easy as hell to put together (once you rip the instructions out of your girlfriends hands, burn them and say we're doing it my way!!).  It doesnt have an adjustable back and I have the lean back quite tight (i prefer not leaning back and the chair going back).  Ive tried the dx racer ones in the past and while they were ok I didnt really enjoy them much..

The one you quoted from WHS and the one I quoted in the OP from Briscoes look very similar. I cant really see much of a difference, except different blue and a different price lol. Can you see anything?

???! They look way different!

I would strongly suggest that you try any chair out instore before buying it. Not sure if briscoes have floor models out, but WHS certainly did when I was last in there buying some overpriced paper.

I have DXRacer too and I quite like it.

I don't have the problem with the recliner lever. Mine seems pretty stable.

DXracer have a confusing range of styles and it isn't obvious what the best size/fit should be.

You can't tell from a quick test in the shop.

But, they do have a fit for almost anyone.

They are pretty expensive though - approx. $600-700.

Its not the lever to lean the back, its when you push the up down handle in to lock it from the spring. That only goes in on the right so the left has more movement, and it is a very sloppy lock too, seems that base part is very similar to a budget computer office type chair, not what I would expect for what it costs.

Do you find it hot and possibly sticky in summer? Without running air-con

I've tried a few in warehouse stationary the other day, the one in your link has better lumber support, but I found the bigger one in the series more comfortable overall (longer cushion and a bit more puffy)

My main concern is whether it would get hot and sticky in summer because of the material.

Ive never had that problem with my dx racer, but I am not in a habit of sitting on it without clothes where it would be a problem.

And I have now got aircon.
