I have been doing my family research and came across this photo taken I think in 1992.

It is the original family home of my gt-gt-grandparents, built around 1870. I was wondering if it's still standing, but I don't know exactly where in Southbridge it is.

I tried doing a Streetview for it but it seems like a lot of roads in the area haven't been "captured".

So, if you're a local, does it look familiar?

My sister in laws lived ther for years but doesn't know of it. She wondered if it was on a farm.

If you have an address then Google Maps satellite photos would at least show if it was still standing.

It was on a farm. Possibly in the vicinity of Matthews Rd, but that's just a guess.

Without much unique about it and such an old photo, I imagine it would be difficult to pin to a specific property, it's just your typical cottage.

But I do remember going to an open home maybe 10 years ago on the Southbridge side of Leeston, I think it was on The Lake Road, which was a cottage very like that, down a fairly long drive, had trees along the front and a long skinny horse paddock before the house.

If its of any use, the 1874-75 Selwyn Electoral Roll says Glenfield farm was rural sections 9561 and 9930.

Try as I might I have been unable to find a map with those details.

Local museums were strangely unhelpful.

It is better to visit. Allow half a day, this kind of thing takes time run by volunteers and may take a few visits etc.
