Not just that, but a great man, an outstanding role model, and a fantastic mentor to some of our new greats!

RIP. I was stoked that he got to see NZ perform so well at last years CWC.

I remember hanging off every ball of his last 99 runs when he got the 299 at Wellington v Sri Lanka, so hoping he'd get the 300.

What a loss indeed. Such a gentleman and great *thinker* of the game. Was privileged enough to be at Eden Park during the world cup last year (against the Aussies) when he was acknowledged by the ICC. Huge standing ovation and a lot of emotion in the crowd, special tribute for a special man.

RIP Hogan.

A genius in every sense of the word, both good and bad. Notoriously dogmatic, thin skinned and difficult but also incredibly creative and the most truly elegant of New Zealands batman.

I think one of the things which I truly respect about Crowe was as he aged he became much more reflective and saw the point of view of others. He got Joseph Romanos to write a late biography after earlier writing a very unflattering early biography.

A Titan taken far to young.

On and Off the field.  I'd love to see him in todays modern and frantic game (which I believe his fellow Kiwis helped evolve)

I enjoyed his batting and his commentary on cricket , he had his standards and was not shy on calling out NZ Cricketers mistakes (ie throwing their wickets away )

He will be a loss to cricket and his family
