Trademe adds automated courier pickup and pricing after running Beta with 20k users:

Anyone here used it?

The couriers would pick up items that could just be wrapped in newspaper or plastic bags, so long as they were secure, and there was no need for a printed label – just to write out a reference number, he said.

^I would be very surprised if that part is correct ; ).

Have not looked but the chances of them picking up from my house are slim to say the least I expect!

I wonder if this is going to affect passtheparcel, as I though they were linked to trademems system. I have found passtheparcel good for sending some items, but for others it works out cheaper to use NZ post, which doesn't make much sense.

Oddly, Rural Post do just that: if you leave stuff in your box with stamps etc on, the postie will collect it!

I love this service, make its much easier for myself and the buyer. I package the item and get a quote, I screenshot the options and send to the buyer so they can choose the option they want and include that cost into their payment.

I like the fact I no longer have to drive to the post office and I can have it picked up even while I'm not at home. Also means I don;t have to keep receipts floating around until the buyer had got their item.

Big thumbs up from me, plus its also much cheaper than sending via parcel post which takes longer, isn't tracked unless you pay extra. Items within one island are usually overnight as well.
