Just received...

Dear Customer:

AlphaCity has been trading for over six years in a highly competitive market and we have driven hard to offer the best prices in NZ to our customers. In the last couple of years it has been difficult to survive in such an environment and continue to offer good customer service, so we have made the decision to sell AlphaCity to PB Technologies in order for you to continue to get great products, service and price across New Zealand. PB Technologies is a fast growing NZ company that is dedicated to offering IT products and has been a supplier to us for some time. PB will look after all AlphaCity warranties and customer support, below you will find your new logon details for their website and links for Returns and Customer Support. If you have any outstanding orders with us we will fulfil the orders where money has been paid to AlphaCity's account and pass the others to PB to manage.

You have been identified as also being a customer of www.pbtech.co.nz and your login is linked by your email address appropriately.

The staff of AlphaCity and I would like to thank you for your custom over the last six years. We are very much appreciate for your business and support, and sincerely wish you the best for the future

A pity. I found them very good to deal with in the past. It is probably the most competitive industry.

Strange, I got one of these emails, but I unsubscribed from the list several years ago, and is the first time in years I have had an email. I wonder if someone has mucked up.

I remember back in the days working at Techpac (2003) and what margins were like then.... I still miss that crew.

Back then PB where still a smallish OEM trader. I shop there occasionally these days, usually to buy cheap hardware I bet they make only a couple of dollars on each item they sell. The race to zero is well into its maturity stage.

But sometimes its easier to just buy a business like they have done here than open another store. I don't know much about Alpha City tbh.

I'm pretty sure PB has bought them for at least a year now.
