I've been up most of the night due to this - heavy rain followed by some epic lightning but now am a little sick of it :) - the river outside our house is now at a point of some concern.

No photos, I just wanted to sleep.

Ear plugs, habit from when I lived in the city near a noisy bar. I sleep through most noise thanks to them :)

I love the weather reporter on the Metservice site. He has that American accent but pronounces Maori names really well. It's such a mindscrew!!

I was awake and thought this morning why did I not grab my camera. A real numpty moment on my behalf. Maybe Thor will be grumpy again tonight.

My UPS caught 2 power spikes - did not lose power apart from maybe a few ms:

2016-05-25 07:38:43 +1200 Power is back. UPS running on mains.
2016-05-25 07:38:42 +1200 Power failure.
2016-05-24 23:56:54 +1200 Power is back. UPS running on mains.
2016-05-24 23:56:53 +1200 Power failure.

So glad I don't have work until 4pm today - means I could have actually got a bit more sleep :)

Woke up briefly then back to sleep. It wasn't that great/scary though I'm clouded (pi) by a decade in Brisbane - now those were storms.
