They may have changed their shipping rules, I bought a Firefox shirt from them a couple years back and they happily shipped to NZ.

Your answer is a little unclear.

You should be able to purchase from the Mozilla store in US dollars using your Visa/Mastercard etc and your bank will convert it to NZ dollars for you.

From what I understand about the prezzy cards they work like a credit card but are prepaid - they should be able to handle foreign currency but I'm not sure.

Hopefully someone else here with more knowledge on this can help out :)

Prezzy card will be fine as long as there is sufficient credit for the converted transaction and the currency conversion fee. That is unless the payment provider has blocked the BIN range, which is unlikley as to them a prezzy card is just a foreign credit card (There are some placed in NZ you cant use Prezzy Cards)

Why would some places not accept it? It's just like a normal credit card isn't it?

[Grammer Improved - Hope I didn't miss anything Tongue out]

Security risks (Not being registered to an individual) are one reason.

Some places (Like Taxis) wont accept them as they can't verify funds there and then, and with it not being registered to person there is no follow up etc.

This would be true only for manual transactions though.

Yes and no, I understand alot of Hotels will not take them either as if you then go and trash the room you aren't traceable.

These cards are like any other card and will be accepted in international transactions. The only restriction is they can't be used in manual transactions. That's all.

Getting way OT now but from the NZ Post Website:

http://www.nzpost.co.nz/Cultures/en-NZ/Personal/PrezzyCard/TermsAndConditions/

8. What can you do with your card?

You may use your card to purchase goods or services from any merchant who accepts Visa transactions electronically (except at taxis, automated fuel dispensers, online gambling sites and for some services where the merchant requires identification). The amount of your purchase will be debited from your available balance. Some merchants (for example, hotels, motels and car rental agencies) may impose a hold amount.
