The recently concluded "Sound Breaking" series of Prime Rocks documentaries was one of my favourites.

I loved the "7 ages of Rock" series as well, and the movie "It might get loud" is right up there .

There are several other shows Prime have put on under their Prime Rocks banner, esp about the making of several albums, or entire shows on Bands/Artists.

Are there any other shows similar to this ???? I see the Roadies show will play in the Game of Thrones slot on Soho. Is it worth keeping SoHo for ???

Really agree on 'Sound Breaking' - wonderful. Didn't see them all- currently away from home for a few more weeks and have one or two recorded to be watched when we get back.

'Beware of Mr Baker' is worth watching IMO, if you can find it:

These are just some Music related documentaries I have watched and enjoyed. Sound City is probably the closest to what you're looking for.

Our vinyl weighs a ton (more hiphop than rock, but still worth a watch)

Probably two of my favourites from (US) Netflix... but most appear to have disappeared recently.

It's a movie, not a documentary but I really enjoyed Whiplash. About a young drummer.

I really enjoyed the Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways series.

Also David Bowie: Sound and Vision, but basically because I'm a huge Bowie fan.

Both absolutely AMAZING!

There's a good one on Janis just arrived on NF US. I'm waiting for the weekend to see it.

Also, try qello.com... $5USD a month, not region locked, and all the concerts and docos you can throw a stick at!

edit: The price has gone up, but still worth every cent of the $7.99 USD

Rolling Stones - Crossfire Hurricane, also, if you can find it - 25x5 is pretty good (released in 1990, when everyone thought a band being together for 25 years was impressive).

I saw a good one recently called Lemmy. It's about Lemmy.

The genre is full of interesting stories - they;re usually pretty interesting to watch even if the artist isn't your normal kind of thing.

Generally i get the idea it's very hard work in the 'creative' industries, which has a corresponding effect on lifespan.

Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21
