Just got an email to say Yoobee is now re-branded as Oobe. Makes sense given that Yoobee are also an education establishment so avoids confusion.

I personally think it is a little bit of a fail given they wanted to create their own identity, Oobe stands for Out of box experience so nothing new and a google brings up heaps of results such as Microsoft. There is also an Oobe company in Aus, America and in the UK, ranging from fashion to landscaping.

I also tried to find Oobe NZ with no luck and oobe.co.nz is blank, http://www.yoobee.com still works but met with a site is down currently for maintenance message. I would of thought if they were re-branding they would have a website ready.

What do you guys think? Good re-brand or an odd choice?

So second rebrand in only a few years. Youbee used to be Magnum Mac

If you have a solid brand identity, there are very few good reasons I can think of to rebrand.

For the unwashed masses.... what the hell is Yoobee?

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it's an apple thing looking at the cached results for a google search for "yoobee nz"

I believe that it's an Apple dealer.

When I saw the subject line, "out of box experience" came to me before "Yoobee", but maybe that's just due to playing with the Windows OEM kit all those years ago :)

I always worry about companies that have to keep rebranding. It is not a cheap exercise to do right.

I shopped there once or twice when it was Magnum Mac. It was not bad for accessories but always seemed overpriced.

These days the Apple Store is so easy online that I never bother shopping anywhere else for Apple products.

I went into a couple of physical Apple Stores in the US and did not like them at all however.
