I bought something from Amazon, and it has been confirmed shipped at 10am on 19 September.  The Youshop address is correct, but it is still not showing in my Youshop account.  I've tried the "claim your parcel" option but still no luck. Is it normal for something to take 3-4 days to show as being "in warehouse"?

It's fairly common.

Does Amazon show it as delivered?

Usually their tracking will show it being signed for on the dock at Youshop. From there I find it usually takes a good day or two to show up in your Youshop account.

Also, remember that th US is a day behind - so the 19th there was only Tuesday here.

The warehouse is a 3rd-party service provider operating on behalf of a number of companies like NZ post. The scale in the US is huge compared to NZ. Trucks will be arriving constantly and the client companies will have service level agreements with the forwarding service provider. The people there will be working their way through the thousands of packages......maybe in EACH truck.....and storing the packages in places where they will be found again....and it all takes time. Maybe they just put them on a conveyor with the bar codes facing up to be scanned as the package passes....or maybe they have hand scanners and do each package manually as they handle it.

I'm not surprised it can take days....having seen a freight depot with an 18-wheeler pulling in every 20 minutes day and night. Or 5 at once.

That's now only two days since it shipped (remembering the US is a day beyond). That's far too soon for it to be at the YouShop warehouse and processed yet.

YouShop shipping is normally fairly quick once it gets to NZ Post - remember the warehouse in the US is not NZ Post.

Sorry - showing that it was DELIVERED on the 19th, still no show on my account by 22nd.  Thanks all for your responses, I guess I'll wait until Monday to see!

OK, so overnight Monday our time. Should show in your account tomorrow morning I'd say. I find a lot of my things show up in YouShop on a Friday morning.

I've had two recent orders from Amazon using the US YouShop warehouse. First order was delivered by Amazon on 20 July and I was notified by YouShop that they'd received it on the 22nd. Second was delivered on 6 September and I was notified on the 7th. It may also depend on what it is that you've ordered as they may need to check it is eligible to be sent to NZ? In my first order it was Anker powerbanks that were being shipped and the second was Anker USB chargers

Update:

Amazon confirmed item delivered to Portland warehouse on 19 September 10am.

Still no acknowledgment from Youshop (8 days later) that it has arrived.

'Claim my Parcel' didn't work.  All my correct details were on the item, including correct address, youshop ID etc.  I have bought from Amazon before using those details and last time it was perfect - so no issues with the item being delivered.

Youshop website directs me to contact the national contact center, but is unclear how, or to what email address.  So I did an "ask a question" email request with NZ Post last Wednesday evening (21/9), which states I will have a reply by 5pm next business day.  Still no reply.

So yesterday morning (26/9) I phoned them.  A helpful lady took my details and said someone would be in contact by phone or email.  24 hours have passed with no response, and still no Youshop update.

edit - update - I have just had an email from Youshop - item not found, still looking, asked for copies or original order/invoice

Do I have any options?  If Amazon delivered the product I presumably can't get a refund from them, because they have done their job.  This process makes me very cautious about using Youshop ever again, especially for something of value!!!

I have had similar problems with YouShop UK - items arrive and never appear in the YouShop account after 3 weeks. Navigating the NZ Post website is a nightmare however I emailed the National Contact Centre ( https://support.nzpost.co.nz/app/ask/refer/youshop ) and provided all the details of the items including shipper, tracking code, estimated size and details of when it was delivered.

Was slow communication due to the UK effectively 12 hours behind but each time they managed to find the items. All up I had really good service from the NZ Post contact centre however they were let down by the UK operation - both items that went missing were signed for on the same day at the same time, someone must have had a bad day that day!

My parcel was delivered to the Portland address on Saturday. I got an email from Youshop this morning saying they have received it. So yeah, something has definitely gone wrong with your parcel.

I have been using youshop for about a year now.

It has got very slow (particularly over the last 3-6 months). And since they have the new cheaper option, there is no difference in speed either. It does not matter which shipping option you select and pay for.

I've got an item due for delivery tomorrow.  Tracking previously said it had left the country (US) but it seems to have disappeared from tracking completely.  I called NZ Post and they said it should have had some more scans by now so have opened an investigation for me...
