G'day.

Is anyone else here a bit of an asian noodles and soups fan, who can't find a decent range locally at their supermarket? Can I ask you where you buy from that doesn't try to charge high delivery fees (in my case to Tauranga)?

I've googled around, ordered from a couple sites now, and despite some low unit prices, I get hit with high delivery fees so I'm paying too much for my liking. Or I have to order such a large amount to make fixed delivery fees reasonable, that it's going to be absurd for a single guy. I want to buy ahead for a few weeks at most. Not six months worth of XYZ product, eh? :-)

Your advice is very much appreciated!

I prefer a good Indian curry myself.

Oh, I enjoy Indian too :-) And I've found good supplies locally and online for my needs in that area, thankfully.

Also I've got a really good Indian restaurant just around the corner, only five minutes walk away. So that's great for special occasions, or the occasional treat and respite from the dishes, heh.

Asian grocery stores are usually where I go. Often noodles are priced quite well there.

There's a small Asian supermarket on Grey St. Why not just go there?

If I wanted to experience the real world, I'd have chosen a less geeky introverted lifestyle ;-)

You can call/email your shopping list there ahead of time and have them assemble the order for you. This would minimize your exposure sunlight and awkward social interaction.

That's about as good as its going to get for doing it cheaply in this little village we call Tauranga.

Are you trying to intimate that this person is some sort of vampire or, even a programmer?

Have you tried this?  I shop at several Asian food stores and they are all no-frills, no chit-chat, in and out operations.  I've never considered that they would entertain e-mail orders.

Yes I've done this.

I normally keep my receipt, and send that to them, that way they don't get the products mixed up or substituted with a different brand.

The staff at this store are quite nice and obliging.
