What are opinions on this? An 80's star coming here, then Toni Street, who I think is quite cool, digs the dirt. Its about his music.
Given the threads here about news, ???

ZollyMonsta: It wasn't dirt. Had discussed the VISA issues. How dare he diss the lovely Toni Street 😍
She is! But its about the musak, not the other. If it was a 60 minute doco interview, then yes. But a few minute chat to go over his past? Like some other issues lately, its a bit embarrassing for NZ. Cheika dressed as a clown, Jeering at Quade Cooper, now digging dirt on a visitor, who clearly sees NZ as well, stink. Righty so. We are better than that

+1
A wannabe TV hack clawing as much publicity as possible off the back of someone who has demonstrated talent. Yawn.
Toni who?
I thought it was normal when interviewing someone, that their agent gives the interviewer a list of topics that are off the table. The fact is that for many people, there are questions that you just don't ask for that type of interview. The fact is that that program is just a light hearted entertainment show. It isn't investigative journalism. So personal questions should be are off the table.
It looked like they were (and still are) trying to make it a Dennis Conner/Paul Homes event.
Street seems to have a higher opinion of herself than most of her viewers. Its good to see people with talent puting down so called journalists for being rude.
Mind boggling stupidity on Streets part. Very Pedestrian (see what I did there). Out of line. Not a fan of his, but not surprised he walked out, I would have too.
I am wondering how low NZ "journalism" can go.
Another reason to cement my personal position that these 7PM shows are merely infotainment, and not worth following.
Since I never watch this rubbish I had no idea what this thread was about. From the comments I now have an idea. If Boy George walked out on a stupid and rude interviewer, good on him. What a shame he goes home thinking this is New Zealand, though.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
MikeB4: I stopped watching their trash TV quite some time ago. Hosking and Street irritate me with their babble
Agree 100% with you. When watching TV1 news and the camera pans to Hoskins / Street waiting to start their program, I cannot dive for the remote fast enough

There's two more people I've never heard of!
I have no problem with Street asking him the tough questions and I'm not star struck by Boy George's 'talent'. Really, his star fell a long time ago.
It's funny how when other well-known types come to our country with various convictions (Mike Tyson, rape; Chris Brown, assault) the public is quite vocal in saying "Hey, we don't need their type here". Boy George shackled a guy to a radiator and whipped him with a chain. I guess we're not so troubled by that?
His victim is a bit appalled that George has been invited to judge on The Voice. That conviction gave him visa troubles coming to NZ. This is still recent news and worth addressing. If Chris Brown was a judge on a talent show and then got a visa to come perform in NZ, would the media be expected not to ask questions about that so he doesn't get offended? Should journalists only ever give softball questions?
What I find odd is that people complain about Seven Sharp being too lightweight. But when they ask the hard questions, they get criticised and told to stick to being lightweight. That doesn't make sense to me.
