Missus bought some nerf gun bullets from a reputable seller. the fella had the guts to upload a fake tracking address and it shows delivered (to someone else). he also writes a message explaining that he "upload tracking number in bulk" and "don't worry we have shipped and it will arrive". !

Oh well I guess that's what happens when you buy stuff from overseas ....

I think ebay requires a tracking number, which can make shipping a lot more expensive.

So complain to AliExpress... you'll get a refund, seller will get a black mark (or closed down).

I've had a few orders from there where the tracking number was fake but the products were still delivered. When I brought some nerf bullets from seller Air toy, I think the tracking number wasn't correct however they still turned up. Perhaps you just need to wait some more?

Edit - although, if you have passed the confirmation time, you have already been waiting a while.

That's exactly what she bought :)

Anyway I think this is how he works it. Sells item as airmail, charges more, ships as standard mail, profit.

That's why I'll never buy anything on Ali Express that charges for shipping. I've ordered hundreds of items on there over the last couple of years I reckon and the tracking provided only ever works in a handful of cases. That being said I've only raised a dispute once for an item that didn't arrive, and once for a faulty product (powerbank where the USB connection literally fell out), so the tracking is rarely useful anyway.

Like others above say, dispute the purchase and get Ali express involved. They seem pretty on to it from my experience and that of friends.

I've bought (checks account) hundreds of orders from Aliexpress and most of the time (90%) the tracking information is fine. Sometimes though the seller puts a fake tracking number in to satisfy the shipping timeframe they put on individual auctions. They also sometimes use remailers and send the goods from source to a 3rd party country where it's then remailed to me here in NZ. When they do that you can see either the tracking number get updated a week or 2 after the first one (for the good sellers) or they never bother and the stuff usually turns up with the placeholder false tracking number staying there.

Sellers get impacted if they don't ship by the dates they put on the auctions, so they are incented to say they have shipped even if they haven't.

Cheers - N

I have had 3 orders, one containing lithium batteries and 2 others with other things now not track on the supplied number, and when it turns up a new label has been put over the top 10 or so days after  it was shipped.

Last one was supposed to be coming NL post, and you could see the original tracking number on a NL post sticker under the malaysia post sticker that was put on top. Still got here, just took a little longer.

Even after it auto confirms arrival you can still dispute it, there is a bit longer to do that.

edit:

In one case the seller messaged that it had failed security and was being re-sent another way. The other 2 just did nothing.
