I barely even know where to begin on this and remain within the FUG....!!

From today's Times:

"Hundreds of forgotten children are beaten and starved every year by relatives trying to purge them of evil spirits, campaigners have claimed.

Children accused of being possessed or a witch have been burnt, cut, strangled or starved in about 60 cases identified by the Metropolitan police last year. However, up to 350 are being missed by authorities outside London due to poor training and cost pressure, the charity Africans Unite Against Child Abuse (Afruca) said."

Yes folks, that is witchcraft, in London, in the 21st century. And - most astonishing of all - it's apparently the fault of the Police for not having adequate training.

I'm sure that some members of the royal family will be consulting their astrologers on how best to solve this problem.

I don't know why but people are becoming more and more ignorant as the time passes. This is quite worrisome.

The internet was supposed to enlighten us .. so far all it has seemed to do is allow the further dissemination of extreme alternatives ...

Below, is sort of an example where the internet is supposed to enlighten us, but if it's not the Kardashians, then it must not be real:

(From NZ Herald)

What was your "I am surrounded by idiots" moment?

I was at a small social at my parents' house and mentioned something about the National Space Centre in Leicester. A girl pipes up and says, "Oh I love taking my son there, he loves it, I just find it amusing because I don't believe in space." I asked if she meant she didn't believe in investing money in space exploration. No, she did not believe in space. She simply did not believe that anything existed above the sky, that pictures and videos were all fake and that all space agencies and anyone who claimed to have been to space was lying. The other girls in the group started nodding in agreement saying things like, "Now that you mention it, I've never really seen space." I just went home.

If there was a devil I am pretty sure that BT is an agent for him.

Certainly nothing very christian about anything he has ever said or in his behaviour.

The UK, amongst other countries, have been letting in refugees, etc, and many would come from areas where religions are paramount, and heavily invested in their lives.

Just because they end up in a different country doesn't mean that their beliefs won't follow them.

Witchcraft is no different to other deity belief systems.

Didn't we have someone die here awhile back as a result of an exorcism? Certainly some in this country believe in witchcraft.

A few years ago in NZ a woman was purportedly drowned in an exorcism ritual arising from traditional belief in Makutu ...

I've even heard of religion that believe a chap who was crucified 200 years ago was resurrected and is still alive.  Devotees of this faith engage in simulated necro-cannibalism and necro-vampirism pretending to eat his body and drink his blood.

The NZ case was in 2007, and involved the death of a woman named Janet Moses - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wainuiomata_m%C4%81kutu_lifting

A while back I recall a (positive) review on Nat Rad of the movie made about the case; if I remember correctly it's a "docudrama" in which scenes have been re-enacted. As it happens, it's available to watch on TVNZ OnDemand: Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses.
