Long story but I need to get a BBQ smoker from Wellington to Dunedin.

(THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL BBQ SMOKER. IT'S FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES)

The initial plan was to put it on a pallet and that MainFreight would ship it. However they won't except it because of it's odd size.

THE smoker can can't be dismantled.

What is my options which is not going to cost a fortune?

I can't say I've had that particular problem before, but unless you need it by a particular deadline, you could try an office relocation company. They're used to shipping odd sized filing cabinets and desks and such. If you're smoker can hitch a ride on a truck going that way anyway, you can often get it at a pretty good price.

As mentioned call a couple of line haul trucking companies, due to weight constrictions some times half the truck can be empty.

Thanks for that. I check it out. It's not my BBQ smoker it's just by circumstance that I have one and I need to get rid off it.
