I like to listen to rnz on my headset via my phone. For some reason this app (android) constantly drops the signal. I have tried it with the soil direct and using I heart ratio app which appears to be there rnz app in a wrapper. Three I heart works a little better but walking down road it can drop signal many times in 15 minutes. I have no trouble with other apps eg Google play Spotify etc just the rnz app. Anyone else experienced this?

I find it works fine on my phone (Android now, Apple previously) on wifi in the house.

Generally only listen to The Panel though!

I use Tunein to listen to RNZ on my android (admittedly by wifi in the kitchen) and it is fine. Try that and see if it is as good over 3G/4G

I agree it serves to work ok on wifi so it's probably the 4G streaming process. I will log a complaint with rnz but does anyone know if I use the websites to stream the audio is that likely to cheers you more data?

I have a nexus 5x (Android 7) and it will not work at all.  I switched to an app called 'Radio New Zealand' and that works perfectly plus has every other radio station in NZ you could imagine.
