Interesting if you are doing needing of unlimited data but 8US per day is more than I need.

I'll stick with $5 per day to use my 8Gb limit Vodafone plan.

We chose to buy a SIM from "Three" in the UK. Gave us 10G worth of data for the month which we could use with no roaming charges in the US

att for GBP20 (IIRC). We were in the US for over 20 days and that data lasted us the entire time (mostly we used Wifi in hotels, cafes etc).

And READ the Vodafone contract VERY CAREFULLY, IIRC its based on your NORMAL usage patterns , so if you normally only use 1G per month

that is all you are entitled to while overseas, using extra will cost you extra, even if you have a larger pol of data you can use for free in NZ.

@sir1963 you are 100% incorrect about usage patterns and VodafoneNZ $5 daily roaming I suggest you go read the terms on $5 daily roaming

This is totally incorrect and has never been the case.

One assumes you're confused with Spark's old data $10 data roaming that had such a limit (of 200MB per day from memory) hidden in the fine print.

@sir1963 $5 also includes all incoming calls and your minutes are valid for calling the country you are roaming in including mobile and back to New Zealand so if you have unlimited calling on your plan in NZ it's then the same when roaming unlimited

Well that is what I was told by the Vodafone sales droid when we looked into this 12 months ago.

As somebody who normally travels overseas up to a dozen or so times a year and uses this every time I can assure you it is not and never has been the case.

The Spark $10 plan made mention of average usage in the T&C but was actually a hardcoded cap which caused a lot of customers to get pretty annoyed until the T&C was updated to reflect this.

Have used Vodafone $5 roaming many times and have usually used up most of my data that month because of it, I also usually make a lot more calls as I am not in the office etc. never had an issue with that either.
