So somewhere for you to put your top tips to life so others can benefit from your wisdom.

Two from me are wrap a pen spring around the cord of your cell phone charger cable and it will stop it from bending and eventually breaking.

The other is to bypass a lift from stopping to pick other people up if you are in a hurry is to hold down the close door button and the floor you want to go to together until the lift starts to move and it will go directly to the floor you requested.

#1 From the back of a box of matches: Keep dry and away from children

#2 The only truly effective cure for hay fever is capsaicin. Keep a bottle of Tabasco to hand at all times.

#3 Never pick your nose whilst flying in turbulent air. (Was not me that discovered that one but you can see how it could go bad.)

#4 Never let the drummer drive the transit to a gig.

#5 Never underlead an ace.

#6 Make sure you understand which end of a soldering iron gets hot.

#7 Never ignore a clicking hard drive.

#8 Never admit that you know anything about computers.

#9 If a heap of leaves at the other end of a bus shelter makes a rustling sound and asks "would you like some cider" you should leave.

#A Hex is your friend.

1) Smile :) It will win you friends and take you far.

2) When in foreign countries, when going out for a drink, take the name and address of your accommodation written on a card in the local language. I really wish someone had told me this before I went to Europe. It's probably less relevant now, that was before smart phones.

1) Be yourself, not what you think other people (including parents) want you to be.

2) Lack of planning on your part does not constitute urgency on my part.

3) Hell is other people. Never be afraid of silence or solitude. Solitude is so important, Superman had a fortress dedicated to it.

4) Avoid children. They are annoying and serve no purpose.

5) The answer to "Windows or Mac" is usually Mac unless the question is "Which is worse?"

And finally (for now) some wisdom from David Brent: "Eagles may fly high, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines."

I always thought the lift one was an urban myth. It never works for me anyway?

Hell is other people's children. I quite like my own, so far, but we haven't had him all that long.
