Yep Blackbirds, I am onto them and their devious ways and evil plans. They are are everywhere and they are organised.

This morning I was sweeping Bark chip off the driveway back into the garden beds, something that takes me a long time to do one handed. I turn around and at the end of the drive that I had swept the evil ******** were there gleefully flicking the bark chip back out.

I will get them, it is war.

I'll hire out our cat, she loves birds, 5 heads in one day left under a bed is her record so far (just don't tell Gareth Morgan)....

You can buy a 'spray' for blackbirds ... but use in an urban area is frowned upon as it's noisy and contains lead.

There is one at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. I remember standing next to it a few years ago, amazed to be so close to something that just a few more years ago had been so secret that standing that close would have got me shot!

Same spray works on rabbits. There is another version using a different method of application that uses a ballistic tip to deliver the control effect.

You can get a similar spray in steel which alleviates some of the concerns but it's just as noisy.

I actually like Blackbirds. Nice song, friendly things.

Starlings, on the other hand are a menace.

Scatter shot and a tight choke. Works a treat. Also very fun!

Using a shot gun one handed is not going to end well for most of the neighbourhood, however motion sensing Lasers would be great.

If you can get 4 and 20, you can Bake them in a pie. Sit it on the deck as a lesson to the others.
