I thought I'd start a thread on NZ artists on TradeMe.

Here's one I found to get things rolling called "slatem"

Oh goodie.  Can this be a discussion about serious art?

I am not sure of the purpose? Is it to critique the art?

And if she did, it wouldn't be hanging there, because first you must be famous, then you can get away with painting crap.

mattwnz: "I am not sure of the purpose? Is it to critique the art?"

asked Matt.

"There is no purpose" said Mummy.
"Purpose suggests that there's divine reason and meaning behind everything you think is real"

Matt looked sad, and asked Mummy if there was an ice cream shop in the gallery.

Words:
Purpose Everything Ice Cream.

This is a real fine. I felt his "Perspex Sheet White 2440x560x 4.5mm" provides an insightful commentary towards the dystopian past balanced against a hopeful future. Not many artists have the courage to deliver such a powerful social statement of hope; and at the same time a searing commentary on the cynicism of 'Banksy'.
