here it goes again... this is very smart way of doing it and i hope everyone could follow. i got it in email and i am positive this is the only way to fight this.

LET'S JUST DO IT ! ! !

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' PETROL FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET PETROL BACK DOWN TO $1.00 PER Litre....hopefully.  This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!

It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!  We are going to hit $ 2.00 a litre and it might go higher!! Want petrol prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy petrol.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!

we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their petrol! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol. But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from BP.  NZ's biggest price up driver company.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of BP NZ petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!

all you have to do is send this to your friends. That's all! Acting together we can make a difference. Simple – send the message along to other and do not buy petrol from BP NZ.

Not spam. But chain e-mail and chain letters give bumps. And they seldom work.

you know, i had this discussion with a friend.. he was telling me back few months ago media keep telling people that petrol will go up to $2 and sure it did.. why is that? they feed and prepare us and those big oil company follow since they know we have been told that its going to be $2 and we are prepaired for it... funny thing is your preparing us for $3 :))

Johnr, your saying if people follow this and not buying petrol from BP, it wont work?

it has been explained there,,, when no one buys from BP, they HAVE to drop the price since they are not making no money.. just like any other business.

I disagree, you can choose not to read this thread - if it were spam you'd have no choice in the matter.  It's a legitimate thread topic started in an appropriate forum section.

mmm the topic of petrol.. great :)

by not buying for bp will do nothing...
The oil leaders are so closely woven that buy not buying from one will not drop prices.
But.. If we all stopped buying oil all together.. That is a different story!

Ill just put my few cents in..

The last 6 months I have been researching alternative fuel sources.

This is what I have found so far..

#1 - Electric Cars - Good ! - Will most likely be my next car purchase.. even if i have to import..
#2 – BioFuels are a waste of time - Useless we use some waste product on a mass level.. or grow out corn crops in space.. as there is not enough room on earth for a mass level of farming.
#3 - Compressed Hydrogen Fuel Cells are a waste of time & energy – But could be a good idea for countries with eases electric energy.
#4 - Water Fuel Cell - !! Could be the brake though technology that we have all been waiting for!
Free Hydrogen from Water.. and spilt right before injection into combustion engine.

Basically... if you don't already know this - The human race is joking itself if we think we can keen go going our marry way.. as we currently are !!

Oil is running out
Human population is out of control
Pollution levels are off the charts

One person can change/save the world
I just hope someone can continue Stan Meyer work.

again, as said in the topic, not buying would be just out of question.. it is not possible and not going to work.. one way or other you have to buy petrol, but buy from one. simple

here is a quick example,, looking at your 3g vodafone.. what would happen if everyone drop vodafone and go to telecom mobile?

simple, vodafone will go banckrupt, and by not going out of business will have to come up with new, attractive, cheaper plans to offer to get people back on board.

and about chain email.. who said its a chain email!! its just informing your friends.. how else would everyone knows!! you know a better way?

Watch this space. Telecom will be getting very aggressive when they open their GSM network, as will this new 3rd mobile provider, that is being bankrolled by the yanks.  It looks as though we may be getting some real future competition in the mobile market, unlike we have currently got in the petrol market.

While boycotting BP is a great idea (I refuse to go there amd would prefer to walk than support them if I ran out of fuel) the idea that you could suddenly bring petrol back to $1.50 is nothing but a dream.

You also can't compare fuel to mobile phones. We all know we get ripped off supporting Vodafone as well but their fixed costs don't keep increasing like oil prices do!
