Haven't seen this anywhere on here.

 

Earlier articles said he'd been rushed to hospital, now saying his life support has been turned off.

Very sad cry. 

 

His music got me through a few tough moments (well they seemed that way at the time) during my teenage years.

Bugger! A bolt from the blue. I love his music.

 

This is why I'm going to all the greats when they come to New Zealand. You never know if you'll get the opportunity to see them again.

 

Sad I never saw Tom Petty live. Glad I saw AC/DC last time round because Angus announced his retirement at the end of their tour.

The most recent reporting I can find is that he has no brain activity and was taken off life support but is holding on.

 

To quote one twitter user "Tom Petty may not be dead but journalism is"
