Was interested in purchasing the following as I'm an avid home brewer.

Drinktanks Limited Edition Crystal Skull

Was all keen until I saw their shipping prices.

I thought $75US was rather excessive hahaha. Will look at Youshop I think.

Is that NZ Post local shipping thing (YouShip?) an option?

I would think Youshop would work fine. Will try tonight and see what happens.

That shipping seems normal for overseas from the US. THat is why people use Youpost

I find US shipping costs quite variable. There's a reasonable amount of competition but of course you can only use what the supplier offers.

Some of the places I use regularly for clothes etc have free shipping a few times each year.

Yeah, that's a pretty standard look from the US. As already said - YouShop or similar is an easy way around this.

Another thing you could try, if you wanted to, is contacting the supplier directly, point out the excessive shipping and ask them to quote directly. I've done this with Curt Mangan in Colorado and Hipshot in New York with great results, both have been very obliging and excellent to deal with.
