Does this do your head in when people talk about hard drive storage space as being memory?

"But alas, the whole computer had to go. So I bought a replacement and took it to a friendly computer technician. He took one look at its tiny, 90GB  memory and sent me straight back to get one with enough memory, which was 256GB."

I'd be fairly happy with 90GB memory, if only I could find a computer than would handle that much...

yeah it annoys me, not as much as when my mum calls a computer (case and all) a "cpu".  The number of times I've explained to her that a CPU is just a small chip.....

It also sounds like the person has never heard of cloud storage

To be fair, I think you missed this, "Almost everything on my system is backed up to the cloud, which is a good first line of defence. ".

At least the fragile tea cup holder feature has been removed so it doesn't keep spilling people's coffee.

Reviews on many sites are done by people who have no idea about any of the tech or issue they are describing.

Just the other day some fitness blogger explained in very scientific terms how cancer is a good thing for the body.

Ok back to tech - someone explained that some camera is wayyy better because it has so much more megapixels to capture the light in the dark. Yup. CAMERA REVIEW!

One must remember that it was quite common 20 and more years ago to call the computer box a "CPU" ... just like all computers except IBM brands were called "clones"  smile
