The Warehouse in Chch. has a big bin where people can put Christmas gifts for families & kids.   This got me thinking about what might be a suitable gift to put in there.    Maybe not anything with batteries - once the batteries die the people might not be able to afford more.     Dolls might or might not be well received.    Books a bit dodgy the child may be a good reader or not.

I am thinking that something like a basketball, football, water gun (type that needs no batteries), twister game, etc.    Things that could be enjoyed by all..

Ideas?

Some kids would give their left arm for a book.

NERF Super Soaker Zombie Strike Revenge Infector

I've never put anything in those gift bins before so thought I'd do something this year!    Even if it gets stolen out of the bin (unlikely!) some kids will have fun with it.    There were fancier versions of Nerf guns but some needed batteries.

If you're donating to the Kmart Wishing Tree - nothing you've purchased from Kmart. We tried to donate 2 boxes full of toys we purchased from there and they told us they weren't interested in stuff from their own store...

Maybe they think that items paid for & not paid for could get mixed up?    Good on you for the effort anyway!
