I was at a clients place when I saw the ad shown below. Almost choked on my milo. Only DSE would consider a Celeron CPU high end performance and advertise it as such.

4GB ram . 32Gb drive. Celeron CPU. Hmm ... not my idea of high end.

it says high end performance, and maybe it is for what your paying for and getting.

nothing wrong with a Celeron for a mini PC like that, keeps cost down and still delivers in single threaded applications

Xubuntu or Linux Lite might run well on that Mini PC.    In its favour is having 4 gb of ram, however I agree it is in no way 'high end',

I wish people would stop calling it DSE... it's not...

It may be dicksmith dot com, but  it's not DSE, it's kogan.

First world problems if you "wish" people would stop calling Dick Smith, Dick Smith lol

Regardless of who bought DSE out I'll call them by the name they trade under thank you very much, and I would "wish" if you tried not to tell me differently thanks.

What a rude comment - he is actually correct. Kogan brought the use of the “Dick Smith” brand and website. If we are being really correct, it hasn’t been called DSE in years - they dropped the E a long time ago and rebranded to just “Dick Smith”.

I wonder how much Kogan paid for the brand name?    Maybe if DSE had closed all its retail stores five years ago & gone to online only it would have survived.

Note that Kogan owns the "DSE" domain names so they're still "official" in at least one sense.

rude? Don't be so precious.

I never said they were wrong, I said I will use the name they trade under.

I think the only one being precious here is you - and at least 4 others agree with me anyway. Not going to get into an argument over it, have a very merry Christmas.

BEWARE of DSE, Dick Smith and Kogan.

My monitor arrived broken nearly a month ago and they have still not attempted to sort it.

Luckily I purchased through TradeMe so I have lodged a dispute with them.

Well slamming them on Twitter and Facebook has had a reaction.

They actually processed an RA and sent details on how to send it back.

Just such a poor operation, this one is going to be doomed, the service is so poor and Amazon is coming online to drive the nail into the coffin that should have been dead and buried a long time ago.
