Whenever I go to the Met Service web page for Wellington I get a download of index.php. That file has a bit of HTML in it, including this link, which says "this webcam is unknown". Is anyone else getting that?

Anyone else getting this? I'm running Chrome with a few plugins to block ads and such (disabled for GZ but not for metservice).

Perhaps the good @MetServiceComms might know?

I've seen other people's comments regarding this happening too.

I found some posts on the Chrome Google Groups about this. It appears to be a bug in Apache allowing bad code to exist on websites that Chrome is picking up. To fix it just empty your cache.

Edit: spell of Apache

On my Android phone, quite often I open up Canterbury rain radar page, and there is a message "the file could not be created" and no radar image. Any idea what that's about?

I noticed this about a week ago on Android viewing the website. I mentioned it to them on Twitter and they said they were looking into it.

The code is there to do a popup of the snapithd webcams they use, and on most PC browsers isn't going to do anything unless you've changed your security settings. I have seen numerous comments from people who have had their PC security software alert them that the site is unsafe.

Doing this is bad. While the code isn't going to do any harm it could be if it was malicious - just like last time the metservice site was handing out malware to people who visited it.

I'm getting the same.  But only on one PC (Win7/ Chrome).  Half a dozen or so other devices (Android/Chrome and Win7/Chrome) appear to work fine.  (Glad it's not just me though.)
